The third way
What living software is
A third option next to boxed software and bespoke builds. It works on day one and keeps changing with you.
There used to be two ways
Boxed software
Works on day one.
The firm bends around the software. Whatever is missing stays missing.
Bespoke build
Exactly what you asked for.
Months and millions, and every change is a serious project again, with requirements and sign-offs. And all too often, what you get is not what you asked for.
Living software
Works on day one and keeps changing with you.
You shape it to how your company works within days, and you do not need us for that: the ATAILA platform does the work. Every change goes live only after testing.
Software is living software if
- 1
It works on day one.
Not a project that starts at zero.
- 2
The software fits the firm.
The firm does not bend around the software.
- 3
Tailoring is measured in days.
Typically inside a week, training included.
- 4
Every change reaches production through a governed path.
Development, test, production. Not a string of hotfixes.
- 5
The base it stands on improves across every customer.
You receive the improvement without having to ask.
4
The fourth point is why you can trust living software. Software that keeps changing sounds alarming. When every change travels the same governed path, with an automatic security scan and testing, change is a service, not a risk.
5
The fifth point is the one most vendors cannot promise. Someone who tailors something for you is still a bespoke developer. Someone whose product improves while you ask for nothing is a different category.
Why we call it that
Because the software lives: it changes with the company instead of being finished once and ageing from then on. Boxed software is finished, which is why it is not yours. A bespoke build is yours, which is why it is never finished. Living software is both: finished on day one, and yours from then on.
The term is free
Living software is not our trademark. Use it for your own software too, if it passes the five points.
